I Nap, You Knit

Me: Ok, you birds, it's nap time.
Diva: (yawning) But I'm NOT TIRED! *cry*
Turbo: Ok mom, how about I nap and you knit (as she grabs the yarn and needles on my desk)

I hear this alot when it's nap time here, mostly because I started knitting while the girls were napping, or really settling down to nap.  When you are a twin, there is a constant playmate, and nap time can be a bit of a struggle.  Adult presence in the bedroom helps facilitate getting the girls to nap.  Most times, I drag along a little knitting with me to pass the time.

What I have found is that it actually helps them get to sleep!  Watching someone do a quiet, repetitive task must be soothing and monotonous enough to lull them off to dreamland. SWEET!  It's a great excuse to spend a little time during the day on my projects.

Though every time I hear Turbo say her little phrase, I always wonder which one I would rather be doing.

Hmmm. I wonder if that would work for bedtime? Mine talk until the wee hours. You'd think they'd get sick of each other.

Your girls say the cutest things.
